Oxford Center MBA with Residency

The Oxford Center MBA with Residency program is a fully-accredited MBA delivered in a mixed format: online, ground based, and in the field. This revolutionary program is designed to give students hands-on experience, working side-by-side with seasoned entrepreneurs and CEOs. In addition to the online curriculum delivered by Brenau University, the Oxford Center MBA with Residency program’s curriculum requires students to attend and participate in on-campus workshops and to complete a business residency as a CEO apprentice.

This program provides graduates with critical thinking and decision-making skills, as well as comprehensive knowledge of key leadership and management principles. The program is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to progress to a higher level in their organization or take the next step in their career. The Oxford at Brenau MBA is a 13 course, 39 credit hour degree program, which leads to a Masters of Business Administration.

Preparatory Courses

To enhance their success in the program, students are required to take BA500 MBA Foundations (6 hours) unless they have an undergraduate business degree from a regionally accredited institution within the last 7 years.  In addition, BA507 Introduction to Business Communications (3 hours) is required for all MBA applicants that enter the program. The course may be waived if the applicant has a prior masters degree.

Entrepreneur Concentration Courses

Students take five courses to complete the concentration (15 hours):

BA 751 Entrepreneurship

This course is designed for students interested in developing their own business. From the development of a business idea to writing an effective business plan to communicating in a compelling manor the students will learn the process of moving their ideas forward to the point of execution. In addition to the processes involved students will also learn about the psyche of an entrepreneur – the type of personal characteristics that are necessary to be successful.

BA 752 Entrepreneurial Finance

This course focuses on the natural cycle of fundraising for a new business. The course covers internal financial management including risk management, bootstrapping, angel and venture capital as well as the final exit strategy for the entrepreneur which includes the IPO process.

MK XXX Channel Development and Key Account Management

A study of the core business processes involved in management of a sales force in a business-to-business environment. Emphasis is placed on the process of buying and selling, the links between sales and customer relationship management (CRM), developing and maintaining long-term relationships with profitable customers, forecasting and setting quotas, and the implementation and control of sales programs. Leadership, innovation, and technology are important overarching topics in this course.

MK XXX Product Development and innovation

A study of changing market demands, innovation, and new product development from the perspective of marketing management in a business organization. Emphasis is placed on innovation, opportunity identification and selection, new product ideation and concept evaluation, management of the new product process, new product design and development, and strategic launch planning.

BA XXX Ceo Apprenticeship

Students will be required to complete a business residency as a CEO Apprentice with a fast-growth entrepreneur or CEO. The CEO Apprentice program is a 93 day assignment in an industry selected by the student and with a company approved by Oxford Center University.
